Hemorrhoids Diet -

For persons that have hemorrhoids, one of the major factors that can affect their ailment either in a positive or an adverse way is the food they eat. In relation to this, health experts have developed a diet intended for people who are suffering from the effects of hemorrhoids.

What should a hemorrhoid diet contain? In general, it should include a lot of fiber as well as fluids. Regular fiber and fluid consumption helps a great deal in softening stools and ensuring their proper movement, which in effect alleviates the pressure applied during the process of waste excretion. Furthermore, these food groups can prevent future occurrences of the said ailment. In terms of quantity, a person ideally has to consume twenty to thirty grams of fiber and drink eight to ten glasses of clean water daily.

Examples of fiber-rich foods include whole wheat, whole grains, beans, peas, bran, and oatmeal. Fruits and vegetables, especially when prepared raw, are also good sources of fiber. In addition, some health specialists recommend dry figs as being the best remedy for hemorrhoids. These are soft fleshy fruits that usually have a green or purple color. With regard to fluids, regulated amounts of tea and fruit juices can be taken after meals. However, a person should make it a habit to drink two glasses of water even after consuming other types of liquids.

Moving on, an individual must also know which kinds of food to avoid. These consist of foods that have a lot of fat and/or milk, those which have been refined or processed, and those that contain heavy spices and hot sauces. These can contribute to constipation which is one major cause of hemorrhoids. Lastly, excessive eating can also lead to the said ailment.
